Students were to create a historical space about the advancements of an object. I chose watches.
Past Watches
Present Watches
Future Watches
Chosen forms I chose to focus on
Phase 1: Sketch Style
One of the three models had to be made by the student in Maya. I ended up modeling the faces and one rectangle. From there I was able to duplicate the rectangle to create the whole band.
Phase II: Creating Model
This part was a struggle for me at first because I did not plan ahead how to plan to make the rounded band while using rectangles. I was able to problem solve through this and copy and pasted one rectangular shape over and over and adjusted the angles.
This is me playing with color and trying to get the digital face to look correct on the watch screen.

Final Result
Phase III: Production Build/Test/Refine
I removed tables because I wanted the experience to be more of a museum type feel. I added videos/pictures of clocks onto tv screens in the room. The floor is made to be a clock. The ceiling is a video of gears turning to represent gears in watches. Walls were painted to a rustic/gold color to represent the gearas. Large clocks are used to decorate the room. Other models include a pocket watch and Apple Watch.
Phase IV: Reflection
This project was most fun when decorating the room and applying color and textures. I still feel a little hesitant when conneting unity and oculous to preview my room. I think this was the most rewarding project we have done so far in this class because I can now show this room to people which is really awesome!
